The operating principle of a sewage pumping station is based on the accumulation and forced pumping of wastewater. Effluent flows by gravity into the station’s receiving tank, where it passes through a screening basket that retains large contaminants. As the tank fills, float level sensors switch on the submersible sewage pumps, which pump the wastewater under pressure through the pressure pipeline to a collector or to treatment facilities.
